This Privacy Policy describes how Alec Henry M. Dy-Liacco ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the Tripid mobile application ("App"). This policy complies with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.
By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Core trip data — GPS coordinates, speed, altitude, bearing, accelerometer readings, gyroscope readings, and all derived metrics (EcoScore, fuel estimates, trip cost) — is always collected during active trips. This is the fundamental data that powers your trip history, efficiency scores, cloud backup, and every other core feature of the App. It is described in full in Section 1.2 and Section 1.3 above.
Driving pattern telemetry is an optional, separately consented use of your data. When you enable the "Share Driving Data" toggle in Settings, you give us permission to use anonymized samples of your driving patterns — specifically speed profiles, acceleration and braking event distributions, and Vehicle Specific Power (VSP) distributions — to improve and calibrate the EcoScore algorithm. Before any such use, data is anonymized: personal identifiers are removed and GPS coordinates are excluded.

All trip data, vehicle information, and preferences are stored on your device in a local database. The App is designed to function fully offline.
If you sign in with Apple, Google, or email, the following data is synced to Firebase Cloud Firestore (operated by Google):
Cloud sync enables features like cross-device access, social features, and data backup.
Cloud data is stored on Google Firebase servers. Firebase infrastructure may store data in data centers outside the Philippines. By using the cloud sync feature, you consent to this international data transfer. Google maintains appropriate data protection standards under their terms of service.
If we expand to additional regions, data processing infrastructure may include servers in those regions, subject to equivalent or stronger data protection standards.

If you choose to participate in an opt-in program (see Section 2.3), your individual data may be shared with the specific partner disclosed at the time of your consent.
If you redeem EcoPoints through a partner program, we may share limited information (such as your points balance and redemption request) with the redemption partner to fulfill your request.

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the successor entity. We will notify you before your personal data becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy. See Section 8.

We retain personal data as long as your account exists or the App is installed, whichever applies. After account deletion, Aggregated Data derived from your usage is retained but cannot be linked back to you.
Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, you have the right to:

Upon account deletion:
Data you contribute to crowdsourced features (fuel prices, gas station reports, road condition data) becomes part of our collective datasets. Because this data is aggregated and anonymized, it cannot be individually retrieved or deleted after processing. Your personal identity is not linked to crowdsourced contributions.
The App is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will promptly delete it.
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets:

You can revoke any permission at any time in your device's Settings. Revoking permissions may disable specific features but will not affect your account or data.
The App is primarily designed for the Philippine market. If you use the App in other countries:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App with an updated "Last Updated" date. For material changes (including changes to data sharing practices, new categories of data collection, or changes to third-party partners), we will provide at least 30 days' notice via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the App after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
